I’ve been cooking seriously at home for over 20 years. I started KitchenwareCompare because I wanted a review site focused on the serious home cook — not lab tests with equipment most people will never buy, but honest assessments of what actually holds up in a real kitchen.
My focus is straightforward: find gear that performs well, lasts, and is actually worth the money. I cover air fryers, espresso machines, cast iron cookware, flat top grills, stand mixers, knives, and more.
How I review kitchen equipment
I research products by analysing hundreds of verified purchase reviews to identify real-world patterns, comparing manufacturer specifications side by side, and drawing on my own experience with similar equipment. Where I’ve personally owned or used a product, I say so. Where I’m working from research rather than hands-on use, I say that too.
I don’t accept payment for positive reviews. My affiliate relationships — disclosed clearly on every post — fund the site but don’t influence my recommendations. If I wouldn’t buy something myself, I don’t recommend it.
Kitchen equipment I’ve personally used
- Blackstone 36-inch flat top griddle — my most-used piece of kit, going on three years. Everything from smash burgers to weekend breakfast.
- Lodge 12-inch cast iron skillet — over ten years old and still the pan I reach for first.
- Lodge 6-quart enameled cast iron Dutch oven — soups, braises, no-knead bread. Gets used weekly.
- Ninja AF101 4-quart air fryer — two years in, held up well. Great for weeknight cooking.
- KitchenAid Artisan 5-quart stand mixer — bought it for bread, use it for everything.
- De’Longhi Stilosa EC260 espresso machine — solid entry-level machine that punches above its price.
- Cuisinart DFP-14 14-cup food processor — five years, no problems.
