
Short answer: almost every juicer clog comes down to one of four things — feeding faster than the auger can swallow, stringy produce going in whole, a pulp outlet that is already blocked, or a screen with dried pulp set in the mesh. Cause 1: you are feeding it too fast
This is the big one, and it is the least satisfying answer because the fix is patience rather than a part. A masticating juicer turns its auger somewhere between 40 and 80 RPM. That is roughly one revolution per second. Each revolution can only draw down so much material, and if you push a second handful in before the first has been pulled through, the chute packs.
The tell is that the machine does not stop suddenly — it slows, strains, and the produce stops descending. Take your hand off the pusher and give it ten seconds. Most of the time it clears itself.
Cause 2: stringy produce going in whole
Celery, kale stems, chard ribs, ginger, pineapple core, rhubarb. These are the repeat offenders, and they share a property: long fibres that run the length of the piece.
