Silonn Countertop Ice Maker

Starting me off is this simple, elegant ice maker from Silonn. It comes in a variety of shades for you to choose from, allowing you to pick the one that best suits your personality and home decor style. With its high capacity and competitive price, it’s a difficult option to turn down.

Review

If you need an ice maker that’s going to be able to churn out perfect ice cubes at a rapid pace, then Silonn has you covered. Their countertop ice maker takes just six minutes to produce nine bullet-shaped ice cubes. Simply fill the water tank to capacity with two liters of water and you’ll have 26 pounds of ice in just a day.  Perhaps the best feature of the Silonn countertop ice maker is that you can choose between two different ice cube sizes. Set the ice maker to produce small cubes when you want to chill seafood and make sure it stays fresh. Or, if you’re hosting a party and want to keep the drinks cool, you can set the ice maker to produce larger cubes, all with the touch of a button.  However, I would have liked this machine better if it only produced one consistent ice cube size. Instead, the cubes tend to come out in various sizes, no matter which setting you choose. It’s not a massive flaw, but it can be frustrating. You won’t have to worry about this ice maker being obtrusive. When the Silonn ice maker produces ice cubes, it outputs noise that is quieter than 35 decibels. That’s about the same level of noise as a working refrigerator – practically silent!  There’s a transparent lid that allows you to monitor the capacity of the machine at any time, which helps to prevent overflowing. What’s more, the control panel is remarkably easy to use and understand. Simply fill the machine with water, press the “ON” button, choose the cube size you want, and wait. When the machine runs out of usable water, or the ice basket has reached its full capacity, you’ll receive an alert.

Pros

  • Very quiet
  • Self-cleaning feature
  • Easy to use
  • Rapidly produces ice cubes

Cons

  • Ice cubes often come out in different sizes

AGLUCKY Portable Ice Maker

Next is this nifty little machine from AGLUCKY, which not only sits nicely on most countertops but is super portable as well. You’ll be able to take it with you on your vacations and camping trips. The best part? It’s available in three vibrant, distinct colors.

Review

With its compact form factor, you’ll be able to take this portable ice maker pretty much anywhere. It’s small enough to fit into most luggage bags and could easily be perched atop a counter in your kitchen or dining room to provide a constant, convenient supply of ice to you and your guests. It’s easy to carry and operate, and has a great production capacity.  If efficiency and silence are what you’re after, then the AGLUCKY ice maker may be your perfect match. It’s able to produce nine large ice cubes within just eight minutes, and if you leave it running for a day, you’ll have 27 pounds of ice at your disposal. As for the quiet factor, the ice maker is equipped with a quiet cooling system. Not only does this save energy, but it keeps the machine at a quiet noise level.  Adding to its convenience is the fact that this ice maker offers multiple functions, thanks to its basket and ice scoop. There’s a light-up indicator at the top of the machine that reminds you when it’s time to remove ice from the tray, as well as when you need to add water to the tray. The scoop – which comes with the machine – makes it easy to fish ice out of the tray and add it to your drinks.  Like the Silonn ice maker, AGLUCKY’s model is able to produce two different ice cube sizes: small and large. Both sizes are bullet-shaped and rounded, which makes them easy to scoop and gentle on the hands. However, it does make them a little more difficult to handle, since they tend to slide around and over one another, which can make scooping a real challenge sometimes.

Pros

  • Highly compact form factor
  • Easy to transport
  • Great ice-making capacity
  • Comes with a convenient scoop

Cons

  • Rounded ice shape can make scooping difficult

Frigidaire EFIC189 Countertop Ice Maker

If you know anything about Frigidaire, you’ll know that they make some top-quality home appliances like air conditioners, refrigerators, and more. So, it should come as no surprise that their countertop ice maker is one of the best on the market. It might not be the most affordable option out there, but it’s well worth the price.

Review

The most notable feature of the Frigidaire countertop ice maker is its modern design, which boasts a large transparent window at the top of the machine. This allows you to monitor the ice being made at all times, so you’ll always know when it’s time to scoop out some ice. The window flips open easily, giving you full access to the inner chamber when you want to take some ice out.  Frigidaire also made this ice maker extremely compact, with dimensions of just 15” x 11” x 14.5”, making it one of the smallest ice makers on the market. It’s portable and lightweight, so you’ll have no problem moving it around your home or even taking it with you on your trips to have on-demand ice on the go. Just make sure you have a power outlet nearby! Each six-minute cycle of this ice maker produces nine uniform ice cubes. Leave it running for 24 hours and you’ll have a whopping 26 pounds of ice to use as you please. The best part? If you leave unused ice in the chamber to melt, the machine will recycle the water and use it to produce a fresh batch of ice. This can save you a lot on water and also makes this machine highly environmentally friendly.  When the ice chamber reaches its maxim capacity, the Frigidaire countertop ice maker will stop producing ice and will indicate that it’s time to take some ice out. What’s more, when the machine is running low on water, you’ll get an alert letting you know that it’s time to pour some more in.  Like the previous two ice makers, this machine is capable of producing two different cube sizes: small and large. Both sizes are bullet-shaped, which makes scooping and handling them a little easier. However, I would have liked the Frigidaire model more if it came with a scoop, especially since it has such a large capacity.

Pros

  • High-quality build
  • Very compact
  • Large capacity
  • Alerts streamline the ice-making process

Cons

  • Does not come with a scoop

GE Profile Opal 2.0 Countertop Ice Maker

Drfjz9gol. Sl300

For a machine that stands out amongst the competition, consider the GE Profile Opal 2.0 ice maker. It has a distinctive look, and its party trick is the chewable nugget ice it produces instead of standard cubes. Definitely worth your consideration!

Review

One of the most interesting things about the Opal 2.0 is the type of ice it makes. Rather than producing your standard cubes, it creates chewable nugget ice that is easy to use and retains its flavor, unlike traditional hard cubes. It creates ice from compacted ice flakes and the soft, chewable nugget ice it produces melts slower in drinks than standard bullet cubes.  If cleaning is not your thing, then I think you’ll love the GE Profile ice maker. It allows you to skip out on all that annoying scrubbing thanks to its high-tech self-cleaning system that keeps the inner chamber free of mildew and mold. When combined with your favorite high-power cleaning solution, this machine will be as good as new with every clean.  What’s more, if you need a lot of ice each day, then you’ll be happy to know that the Opal 2.0 is able to produce 24 pounds of ice a day. Within just 20 minutes, the machine can create a full batch of ice, and with the large capacity of the inner chamber, you’ll be able to enjoy a pound of ice every hour. That’s more than enough for any gathering or party. One of the most advanced features of any ice machine is a part of the Opal 2.0. It boasts integrated Wi-Fi and voice control features, allowing you to instantly pair your machine with the SmartHQ app. Doing so will allow you to monitor the status of the device, as well as receive automatic software updates. However, the app can be quite finicky when it comes to actually pairing with your machine, which can get quite frustrating.  The LED display screen offers you precise control over your machine. The screen lights up when in use, and when idle for a few minutes, it will darken again to save power.

Pros

  • Advanced features
  • Wi-Fi compatible
  • Producing large quantities of ice
  • Unique form factor

Cons

  • Smart app can be finicky

Igloo Automatic Portable Ice Maker

Vdgabgkdl. Sl300

Check on Amazon

And finally, I have this cute little ice maker from Igloo. It’s highly portable and was designed to take with you on your adventures. It comes in a range of beautiful pastel colors and is complete with a convenient carrying handle.

Review

With its compact, convenient size, this stainless steel ice maker from Igloo looks good on pretty much any countertop in your house. It’s capable of producing more than enough ice for any kind of party and gathering, whenever you need it, thanks to its quick-freezing ability that rapidly produces ice. The ice basket is also completely removable, which adds yet another layer of convenience to this ice machine. Rather than having to fish into the chamber to retrieve your ice, you can simply take the whole chamber out and have ice ready to scoop from your hands. When you’re done, just place the basket back into the machine and it will continue to produce ice.  As I’ve already mentioned, there is a built-in carrying handle at the top of this machine. So, when it’s time to move it around, you can unfold the handle, pick the machine up, and carry it with you. The handle folds back into place when not in use, keeping the entire machine streamlined and unobtrusive.  My favorite feature of the Igloo ice maker is that it boasts an automatic five-cycle cleaning function. This allows for an effortless, thorough cleaning every time – simply activate the cleaning mode and the machine will do the rest. However, I do recommend giving the inner chamber a wipe-down after each use, as this cleaning function, while convenient, is not the most effective.  The Igloo countertop ice maker is able to produce over a pound of ice at a time, allowing you to keep your drinks cold at all times. This might not be the largest capacity of any ice-making machine, but if you’re looking for something lightweight and portable, then the Igloo does the trick.

Pros

  • Extremely compact
  • Highly portable
  • Built-in carrying handle
  • Comes in a range of pastel colors

Cons

  • Fairly low capacity

Wrapping Up

If you want an ice-making machine, but don’t want a clunky, industrial-sized appliance, then these countertop ice makers serve as the perfect solution. They’re compact, easy to move, and even easier to use, making them great for any host.  My favorite option is the Frigidaire EFIC189 Countertop Ice Maker thanks to its high-quality build and compact design. It also has a large capacity and the alerts make the ice-making process streamlined.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best countertop ice maker overall?

The Silonn — 24,886 ratings at 4.3 stars is the largest track record in the category, it makes its first 9 cubes in about 6 minutes, and it self-cleans. The Igloo offers nearly identical performance with a carry handle if portability matters more.

Is the GE Profile Opal 2.0 worth $549?

Only if chewable nugget ice specifically matters to you — no cheaper countertop unit makes it. Be aware its 3.7-star average is the lowest on this list, with most complaints about pump reliability and cleaning-cycle upkeep. It makes uniquely good ice, but it is not the most dependable machine here.

How fast do countertop ice makers actually make ice?

The first batch of 9 bullet cubes takes 6-8 minutes on most units. Sustained output is what the “26 lbs per 24 hours” spec describes — enough to keep a small party supplied if you empty the basket into a freezer bag as it fills.

Do countertop ice makers keep ice frozen?

No — the storage basket is insulated but not refrigerated. Melted ice drains back into the reservoir and gets re-frozen, so nothing is wasted, but for storage you need to move the ice to a freezer.

Do they need a water line?

No. Every unit on this list has a fill-by-hand reservoir — pour in tap or filtered water and plug into a standard outlet. That is what makes them practical for rentals, RVs, offices, and bars.

How often should a countertop ice maker be cleaned?

Run the self-clean cycle (or a manual vinegar-water rinse) every 1-2 weeks with regular use, and always empty the reservoir if the unit will sit unused for more than a couple of days — standing water is what causes off-tasting ice and scale buildup.

Best Semi-Automatic Espresso Machine 2026: 5 Picks Reviewed

Last Updated December 5, 2022

Close-up of an espresso machine control panel and portafilter — semi-automatic espresso machine guide

This post contains affiliate links. If you buy through my links, I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

A semi-automatic espresso machine puts you in control of the shot — you grind, dose, tamp, and pull the extraction. The machine handles pressure and temperature. The result is genuine espresso quality that pod machines and automatic bean-to-cup machines can’t match, at prices that have dropped significantly in the last few years.

This guide covers five semi-automatic machines across the full price range, from a $119 budget starter to a $490 prosumer machine with automatic milk texturing. All five are real semi-automatics — no pod machines, no fully automatic one-touch systems.

Top pick: The Breville Bambino Plus for anyone who wants the fastest heat-up and consistent automatic milk. The Gaggia Classic Pro for anyone who wants to develop real barista technique. The De’Longhi Stilosa for the best value under $200.

Reviews

1. Gevi 20-Bar — Best Budget Semi-Auto

Gevi 20-Bar espresso machine

The Gevi 20-Bar is the entry point for anyone who wants real pump espresso without spending $150+. It has a stainless steel body, a 20-bar pump, and a steam wand — everything required to pull a proper shot and texture milk. The trade-offs are a small water tank, longer heat-up time, and less precision than pricier machines. For a first semi-automatic, it teaches you the basics at low risk.

Pros: Very affordable, stainless steel body, 20-bar pump, steam wand included
Cons: Small water tank; slower to heat; lower build quality than De’Longhi or Breville
Rating: 4.4/5 (3,037 reviews)

Check Price on Amazon →

2. De’Longhi Stilosa EC260 — Best Semi-Auto Under $200

De'Longhi Stilosa EC260 espresso machine

The Stilosa is the sweet spot of the sub-$200 semi-automatic market. It uses a 15-bar pump, a chrome-plated brass portafilter, and a traditional manual steam wand. You control the shot start, stop, and steam yourself — which is what makes it semi-automatic, not automatic. Results are genuinely good: proper crema on a fresh grind, consistent extraction with practice, and a build quality that feels considerably better than budget machines.

With over 13,000 Amazon reviews at 4.2 stars, it has more real-world user data than almost any other machine in this price bracket. That’s a reliable signal.

Pros: Brass portafilter, traditional steam wand, compact design, excellent value
Cons: Manual steam wand requires technique; no PID temperature control
Rating: 4.2/5 (13,701 reviews)

Check Price on Amazon →

3. De’Longhi Dedica EC685 — Best for Daily Latte Drinkers

De'Longhi Dedica EC685 espresso machine

The Dedica is the same price as the Stilosa but takes a different approach to milk. Its Panarello steam wand automatically introduces air as you steam, making decent froth achievable without technique. The trade-off: it gives you less control than a traditional wand, so your ceiling for latte art is lower. For daily lattes and cappuccinos without the frustration of learning manual steaming, it is the better choice. At 6 inches wide, it’s one of the slimmest semi-automatics available and E.S.E. pod compatible.

Pros: Very slim (6 inches wide), Panarello wand for easy froth, E.S.E. pod compatible, fast heat-up
Cons: Less steam control than traditional wand; smaller water tank
Rating: 4.0/5 (4,798 reviews)

Check Price on Amazon →

4. Gaggia Classic Pro — Best for Developing Real Barista Skills

Gaggia Classic Pro espresso machine

The Gaggia Classic Pro is the machine that serious home baristas graduate to. It has a commercial-grade three-way solenoid valve (which releases pressure after each shot, improving puck quality), a 58mm portafilter (the same size as commercial machines), and a genuine steam wand that rewards technique. This is a machine you can grow with — the same hardware professionals learn on, at a fraction of commercial machine prices. Read my full Gaggia Classic Pro review for the detailed breakdown.

The heat-up is slow (~25 minutes for full temperature stability) and the learning curve is steeper than anything else on this list. But for anyone who wants to actually understand espresso — grind, dose, tamp, extraction time, pressure profile — the Gaggia is the honest answer.

Pros: Commercial 58mm portafilter, three-way solenoid valve, full manual steam control, long-term upgrade path
Cons: Slow heat-up; steeper learning curve; higher price
Rating: 4.4/5 (3,148 reviews)

Check Price on Amazon →

5. Breville Bambino Plus — Best for Speed and Consistency

Breville Bambino Plus espresso machine

The Bambino Plus is technically semi-automatic — you still grind, dose, and tamp — but Breville has removed as much friction as possible from the process. The ThermoJet heating system reaches extraction temperature in 3 seconds, PID temperature control keeps shots consistent, and the automatic milk wand textures to a target temperature without manual technique. For busy weekday mornings, it’s the most practical machine on this list.

At $490 it’s the most expensive option here, and it doesn’t give you the same growth ceiling as the Gaggia. But if your goal is great espresso and lattes with minimal daily effort, the Bambino Plus delivers it more reliably than any other machine under $500. See my full Breville Bambino Plus review for the complete breakdown.

Pros: 3-second heat-up, PID temperature control, automatic milk texturing, compact design
Cons: No manual steam mode; 19g fixed basket; grinder sold separately
Rating: 4.1/5 (2,785 reviews)

Check Price on Amazon →

What Makes a Machine Truly Semi-Automatic?

Semi-automatic means you control the shot manually — you decide when to start and stop extraction. The machine handles pump pressure and temperature. This is different from:

  • Fully automatic: The machine doses, extracts, and stops automatically.
  • Super-automatic (bean-to-cup): Everything from bean to cup is automated.
  • Pod machines (Nespresso, Dolce Gusto): Not semi-automatic. Pressurised capsules at fixed parameters — no real extraction control.
  • Stovetop (Moka pot): Not espresso. Strong coffee at low pressure, no crema.

A true semi-automatic uses a pump, a portafilter with a filter basket, and fresh ground coffee. You tamp, lock in the portafilter, and press start. That is the full list of requirements.

Buying Guide

What grinder do I need?

All five machines on this list require a separate grinder. A consistent burr grinder in the $70–150 range will improve results noticeably over pre-ground coffee or a blade grinder. The Timemore C2 (hand grinder, ~$70) and Baratza Encore (electric, ~$150) are common pairings. See my full best espresso grinder guide for 2026 picks at every budget.

Portafilter size: 54mm vs 58mm

The Gaggia Classic Pro uses a 58mm commercial-standard portafilter. Everything else uses 54mm (Breville) or smaller (De’Longhi). The practical difference: 58mm has more accessories available and a larger coffee bed for more forgiving extraction. For home use, both work fine.

Do I need PID temperature control?

PID keeps water temperature stable during extraction. The Bambino Plus has it; the Gaggia Classic Pro does not in stock form (though it can be retrofitted). At the budget end, thermostats are used instead. PID gives more consistent shot-to-shot extraction — useful when dialling in a specific roast.

Manual vs automatic steam wand

A manual steam wand gives full control over pressure, angle, and temperature. Results are better with developed technique. The Dedica’s Panarello wand is more forgiving for beginners. The Bambino Plus auto wand is the most beginner-friendly: set a temperature, press a button, done.

On a tighter budget? The best espresso machines under $200 covers the Stilosa and Dedica in full — both are solid entry points and available for around $150. Or if you’re deciding between the Bambino Plus and the Stilosa specifically, the Bambino Plus vs De’Longhi Stilosa comparison breaks down what the $340 price gap actually means in practice.

For a budget-focused comparison, the best espresso machine under $500 guide covers all five options by price tier — useful if you want to compare the full range from $119 budget to the top-end Bambino Plus before deciding.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best semi-automatic espresso machine for beginners?

The De’Longhi Stilosa EC260 for beginners who want to learn manual espresso at low cost. The De’Longhi Dedica for beginners who mainly want lattes without learning milk technique. The Bambino Plus for beginners with the budget who want consistent results from day one.

Is the Gaggia Classic Pro worth the price?

Yes, if you want to develop real barista skills. The Gaggia rewards effort with a very high ceiling for shot quality. It also has a strong modding and upgrade community. If you want fast, convenient espresso, the Bambino Plus is the better answer.

Can you use pre-ground coffee in these machines?

Yes, all five machines accept pre-ground espresso. Results will be noticeably worse than freshly ground coffee — grind consistency and freshness both affect extraction significantly. Pre-ground works as a starting point; a grinder improves results at any budget.

What’s the difference between a semi-automatic and an automatic espresso machine?

A semi-automatic starts and stops extraction when you press a button — you control the timing. A fully automatic has pre-programmed shot volumes and stops automatically. Super-automatics grind, dose, and tamp automatically too. Semi-automatics give the most control; automatics trade control for convenience.

Do I need a separate grinder?

Yes for all machines on this list. None include a built-in grinder. Even a manual hand grinder at $30–70 significantly improves results over pre-ground espresso. If you want a built-in grinder, the Breville Barista Express adds one at around $700.

How often does a semi-automatic espresso machine need descaling?

With typical tap water and daily use, expect descaling every 2–3 months. Hard water areas need more frequent descaling. Most machines have a descale alert. Using filtered water extends the interval. See my guide on how often to descale an espresso machine for full guidance.

If you are looking for a sous vide cooker that is easy and can be used by most people, this is a great option. It might be a mid-range precision cooker, but you can get top-notch results when using it to prepare your food.

Review

With very fast water circulation, the temperature will be evenly distributed in the container, ensuring much better results. This benefit also allows your cooker to be more accurate in getting the food cooked just the way you want it.

The Inkbird sous vide offers an accurate timer with various settings to get the food cooked in accordance with your schedule. You can conveniently set it and get on with your daily activities until you are notified by the cooker when the food is done.

An easy option to set the device up on your phone with the available app makes controlling it even simpler. With Wi-Fi connectivity, you can set it up for use without too much effort and control the device via the app to save time.

A clear and large display makes it easy to see the readouts on the precision cooker at a glance to keep easy track of progress. It also has an easy-to-select and intuitive feature option on the control panel to make the device user-friendly.

This is the ideal precision cooker for those who love to have everything close at hand while preparing food, and it operates very quietly.

Unfortunately, there are no sous vide cooking bags included with this precision cooker from Inkbird, which is a drawback. This means you will have to get the bags to cook your food separately and at an extra cost.

Also, the selector button on the control panel is a bit too sensitive and can accidentally be changed without you knowing. This means you must be very careful while using the cooker so you don’t accidentally bump against it and change your settings.

Pros

  • It has a quiet operating noise level
  • Strong and durable design
  • Easy to set it up and use
  • Strong and reliable clip to secure the cooker

Cons

  • You don’t get any sous vide bags included with the cooker
  • Selectors on the control panel are too sensitive

With a compact design, you can easily use this device on the counter without it taking up space. This feature also allows the cooker to be stored out of the way in a small space when it is not in use.

To further enhance the overall durability of the cooker from Breville, it is made from stainless steel to last much longer. This means that the device can easily resist corrosion, increasing the lifespan of the cooker.

This precision cooker from Breville comes ready with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities for easy connectivity options and app control. The Bluetooth connectivity option will keep the sous vide cooker connected all the time, even when the Wi-Fi is down.

With quick heating capability, it will be at the perfect temperature in a flash to save you time and effort. What is also great is that it comes with a maximum power output of around 1100 watts to heat a large quantity of water.

With the custom Joule Alexa feature, you can now control the cooker with voice commands. This is the ideal device for the perfectionist and those who love to have only the best gadgets available.

However, you pay the price for the best quality; this cooker comes with quite a high price tag. This cost will put the device out of reach of many people out there who are working with a tight budget.

It is great that you have an innovative app to control the cooker remotely, but that is also the only way to control it. There is no way you can operate and control the features on the cooker itself, which is a bit of a limitation.

Pros

  • A beautiful design to display well
  • Very quick to heat the water
  • You can control it remotely
  • It is made with a compact design to fit in a small space easily

Cons

  • It comes with a high price tag attached to it
  • This cooker can only be operated via the app

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best sous vide precision cooker overall?

The Anova Nano 2.0. At $59.99 with 15,027 ratings averaging 4.6 stars, it is the cheapest pick on this list and still delivers the accurate temperature control that matters most — the extra wattage on pricier models mainly speeds up preheating, not cooking quality.

Do I need WiFi on a sous vide cooker?

Only if you run long cooks away from home — WiFi lets you monitor a 24-hour brisket from work. For steaks, fish, and anything under a few hours, Bluetooth range (or no app at all) is fine.

Does higher wattage make sous vide food better?

No — wattage affects how fast the water bath reaches temperature, not the cooking result. An 800W unit and an 1100W unit hold the same 135°F bath equally well; the 1100W just gets there a few minutes sooner.

Do I need a vacuum sealer for sous vide?

No. A freezer-grade zip bag with the water-displacement method works for most cooks. A vacuum sealer helps for long cooks (12+ hours) where bag seams are stressed, and for batch meal prep.

What container should I use with an immersion circulator?

Any heat-safe vessel deep enough for the circulator’s minimum water line — a large stockpot works fine. Polycarbonate containers with lids reduce evaporation on long cooks, which stops the circulator’s low-water shutoff from triggering overnight.

How long do sous vide precision cookers last?

Typically 3-6 years of regular use. The most common failure points are the pump motor and mineral scale buildup from hard water — descaling every few months with a citric-acid solution meaningfully extends the working life.

COMFEE Countertop Dishwasher

Check on Amazon

The COMFEE countertop dishwasher weighs 46 pounds and has a yearly energy consumption of 174 Kilowatt hours. It comes with a push-button control console and has eight cycle options. The dishwasher’s primary material consists of plastic and stainless steel. The package includes a dishwasher, a user manual, a drain hose, an inlet hose, and a power cord.

Review

One of the first things you will notice about this dishwasher is its easy installation. You can quickly combine accessories and make simple connections like regular dishwashers. The only thing that might need to be added to the instruction manual is how to get rid of errors. Also, connecting it to some faucets might require an adapter.

The dishwasher can go anywhere in your cupboard or the table. You can put up to about 70 tableware pieces inside. In terms of the plates, they will also fit as long as they are 10 inches in diameter or less.

The washing cycles include Normal, Heavy, ECO, Speed, Glass, and Baby-care. It also has an extra drying function which aids in delivering sparkly clean, dry dishes. The compact dishwasher also has Rinse, Mini-part, and Speed.

The Baby-care wash cycle prevents bacteria growth and aims to keep children’s bottles and dinner sets clean. Speaking of children, you won’t have to worry much about accidents as the dishwasher has a child safety lock.

One of the highlight features of this dishwasher is the heavy program. It cleans heavily soiled dishes courtesy of the 12 washing nozzles and the 360° spiral spray wash. The two allow for complete cleaning from all angles. In addition to the 150°F water temperature and the high pressure, you won’t have to deal with tough stains anymore. An extra drying option allows extended drying time by increasing the final rinsing temperature.

It takes about 45 minutes to clean the dishes. Lastly, the COMFEE compact dishwasher is certified by Energy Star as it consumes as little as 2.77 gallons of water.

Pros

  • It fits a large number of utensils
  • Installation is easy
  • Several washing cycles
  • Convenient heavy program
  • Does the job fast and efficiently

Cons

  • The manual is not clear on how to remove errors

KAPAS Portable Countertop Dishwasher

Check on Amazon

This dishwasher from KAPAS is packed with unique features that make it not only efficiently functional but also convenient. It weighs around 26.4 pounds and has a 3-cup capacity. It comes in white, features a touch control console, and has five option cycles.

Review

From an aesthetic point of view, this dishwasher has built-in light functions which are pleasing to the eye. Since it’s a lightweight appliance with small dimensions (16 x 16 x 17.5 inches), you can easily carry it around. This makes it a convenient unit for a small apartment, a camper, a boat, or a dorm. Despite its small size, the dishwasher can easily fit different dishes as long as they are up to 12 inches in diameter.

Some of the different multi-washing programs include Dry, Fruit, ECO, Strong, and Quick. You also enjoy deep cleaning without streaks, courtesy of the upper and lower spray arms.

The panel is easy to use and the LED digital controls clearly display the wash controls. In addition, an automatic water level indicator alerts you when you have reached the ideal water level.

The portable countertop dishwasher features two channel options for filling it out. A water hose or a tank option adds to the convenience of storage and portability.

You can use any detergent from powder, liquids, or pods with the dishwasher — if your home is on a septic tank, see my septic-safe dishwasher detergent guide. If you are running long cycles, manufacturers recommend using detergent tablets to ensure they get fully dissolved.

There are a few downsides to having this dishwasher. For example, some of your pots may not fit inside the dishwasher. Some people also find the dishwasher to be noisy during operation.

Pros

  • You can place it almost anywhere
  • The control panel is pretty easy to use
  • Offers several washing programs
  • Two channel filling up is convenient
  • Accepts most types of detergents

Cons

  • Noisy when in use
  • Big pans will not fit in the dishwasher

If you were looking for a dishwasher with a stylish and compact design, this is the one to get. Farberware is not only known for its unique and innovative products; they are also dependable, whether it is in terms of customer support or any customer inquiry. The company is committed to making work in the kitchen much easier and more efficient with its products. Farberware makes other products like stainless steel cookware and ceramic and non-stick tools. They bring innovation, value, design, and durability to the table.

Review

For this dishwasher, you don’t need a water hookup. That makes it the easiest unit here to move between kitchen, RV, and storage. It offers five washing programs, including Glass, Baby-care, Fruitwash, Rapid and Normal. For effective cleaning, you also get upper and lower spray arms.

Using the Baby-care wash program generates steam, conveniently giving glassware a sparkling clean result.

It is also relatively fast and you can clean your dirty dishes in 40 minutes. In addition, the air circulation is automatic, which helps to dry your dishes.

The fruit wash feature is convenient for cleaning your vegetables and fruit and having them ready from the dishwasher.

When you use the Baby-care program, you might notice that your baby bottles have a powdery residue. This usually means you use a lot of detergents and might have to reduce the quantity.

Plates and dishes 12″ in diameter can fit in this dishwasher; thus, you are covered for most dishes. The overall compact design makes it great for campers or small-sized apartments.

It has a 5-liter tank and the package includes a water hose to connect to your kitchen faucet. If it doesn’t fit, you can buy an adapter.

The constituted material also makes this dishwasher durable, meaning it will last a long time. When you initially receive the packaging, you might notice a bit of residual water inside, don’t worry; this is normal. Dishwashers are usually tested first in the factory before release. You can reach Farberware by phone or email if you experience issues with your dishwasher.

Overall this dishwasher is an aesthetically pleasing unit to add to your kitchen. In addition to the nice looks and finishes, it’s also functional and reliable.

Pros

  • Compact and stylish design
  • It does not require hookups
  • It fits a variety of dishes
  • Convenient steam cycle for washing baby utensils
  • Numerous wash cycles

Cons

  • Your dishes might come out soapy at times

EUHOMY Countertop Dishwasher

EUHOMY portable countertop dishwasher

The EUHOMY replaces the discontinued hOmeLabs unit that used to hold this spot — hOmeLabs has left the countertop dishwasher category entirely. It is a strong swap: 6 programs, a 5-liter built-in tank for hookup-free use, and a 167°F high-temp cycle for sanitizing baby items, all at $242.98 — the cheapest pick on this list. The trade-off for the price is a smaller review base (870 ratings at 4.4 stars) than the longer-established brands here.

Pros:

  • Cheapest pick on the list, with the same no-hookup tank design as units costing $50 more
  • 167°F high-temperature sanitize cycle
  • Compact footprint fits under most cabinets

Cons:

  • Smallest review base on this list
  • Air-dry only — no heated drying

Verdict: Buy this if you want the no-hookup convenience at the lowest price and don’t mind a newer brand. Skip it if a proven track record matters more than saving $40.

Hermitlux Countertop Dishwasher

Hermitlux Countertop Dishwasher with glass door

The Hermitlux runs 7 washing programs from a 5-liter built-in tank, so like the KAPAS it needs no plumbing hookup at all. The glass door and interior LED are genuinely useful rather than decorative — you can see whether that baking dish actually came clean without opening the door mid-cycle. At $299.99 it is the most expensive pick here, but its 4.4-star average across 3,428 ratings is tied for the best-reviewed on this list.

Pros:

  • No water hookup needed — 5L built-in tank
  • Glass door with interior light to check cycle progress
  • 7 programs including high-temp 167°F sanitize

Cons:

  • Priciest option on this list
  • Tank filling adds a manual step every cycle if you skip the hookup

Verdict: Buy this if you want the no-hookup convenience with the most polished build. Skip it if you have a faucet connection available — the COMFEE does more programs for less.

Conclusion

All the countertop dishwashers reviewed not only add to the functionality of your kitchen but are also designed to be aesthetically pleasing. The COMFEE Countertop Dishwasher is my top pick: Energy Star certified, eight wash programs, and the largest proven track record on this list (3,604 ratings). If you are looking for a dishwasher that you can fill up using your jug, get the KAPAS countertop dishwasher which offers two filling options. The Farberware dishwasher is an excellent choice for those with dishes bigger than 10 inches but smaller than 12 inches.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best countertop dishwasher overall?

The COMFEE Portable Mini. It is Energy Star certified, runs eight wash programs, and its 3,604 ratings are the largest proven track record on this list — the surest bet in a category full of newer brands.

Do countertop dishwashers need a plumbing hookup?

Not all of them. The KAPAS, EUHOMY, and Hermitlux all have built-in water tanks you fill with a jug, needing no faucet connection at all. The COMFEE and Farberware connect to a standard faucet with a quick-connect adapter — no permanent plumbing either way.

How many dishes fit in a countertop dishwasher?

Most handle 4-6 place settings — realistically, dinner dishes for two people or a day’s worth for one. Plates larger than about 10-12 inches will not fit in most units; the Farberware handles up to 12-inch plates, the most of any pick here.

Do countertop dishwashers actually get dishes clean?

Yes — they use the same spray-arm and heated-water approach as full-size machines, just in a smaller chamber. The main compromises are capacity and cycle time, not cleaning quality. High-temp cycles on the EUHOMY and Hermitlux reach 167°F, hot enough to sanitize.

How much counter space does one need?

Plan for roughly 17-22 inches wide, 20 inches deep, and 17-18 inches tall — about the footprint of a large microwave. Check clearance under your cabinets before buying; most standard 18-inch cabinet gaps fit these units with little room to spare.

Planning a full countertop setup? A countertop ice maker has roughly half this footprint if you are budgeting space for both.

Are countertop dishwashers worth it compared to hand washing?

For one- and two-person households, usually yes — they use 2-5 gallons per cycle versus up to 20 gallons of running-tap hand washing, and the high-temperature wash is more hygienic than any sink scrub.

The 4 Best Air Fryer Pressure Cooker Combos in 2026

The honest truth about the air fryer pressure cooker market: it is a narrow field. Only a handful of appliances combine genuine electric pressure cooking with real air frying capability in a single unit, and only two brands do it consistently well. I have spent time researching and evaluating every currently available option sold new in the US, filtering out the discontinued, refurbished-only, and pressure-cookers-without-air-fry that keep showing up in search results. What is left is a short but strong list. If you want the quick answer: the Instant Pot Duo Crisp 8QT is the best air fryer pressure cooker available right now, and it is not particularly close.

Instant Pot Duo Crisp 11-in-1 8QT — Best Overall

Instant Pot Duo Crisp 11-in-1 8 Quart air fryer and pressure cooker combo

Over 30,000 verified ratings do not lie. The Instant Pot Duo Crisp 8QT has been tested in more real kitchens than any other air fryer pressure cooker combo by a significant margin, and it maintains a 4.7-star average across that enormous sample. The 8-quart capacity fits a 6-lb chicken for pressure cooking, then the swappable air fryer lid crisps the skin to a golden finish without transferring to another appliance. EvenCrisp technology circulates heated air with precision to deliver consistent browning rather than the hot spots some combo units produce.

The 11-in-1 function set covers pressure cook, air fry, roast, bake, broil, dehydrate, slow cook, steam, saute, sous vide, and warm. Switching between pressure and air fry modes means swapping the lid, which takes a few seconds and does require storage space for the second lid. That is the most common complaint in the reviews, and it is fair. But given what you get in return, most users find it worth the trade-off.

At $193.99, this is not a budget buy. But you are effectively replacing two separate appliances, and the math works out for most households. The free Instant Pot app adds 800+ recipes written specifically for the Duo Crisp dual cooking modes.

  • Pros: 30,000+ reviews and proven track record, 8QT handles large family meals comfortably, EvenCrisp delivers genuine crisp results, 10 safety mechanisms, free app with combo-specific recipes
  • Cons: Two lids need storage space, 13.4 lbs is heavy to move around, may be oversized for 1-2 person households

Instant Pot Duo Crisp 11-in-1 6QT — Best for Smaller Households

Instant Pot Duo Crisp 11-in-1 6 Quart air fryer and pressure cooker combo

Same technology as the 8QT, smaller footprint, $64 less. The 6-quart Duo Crisp is the practical choice for 2-4 person households who want the full pressure cook and air fry capability without the bulk and weight of the larger model. At $129.99, it is also the better value per dollar for anyone who does not regularly cook for a crowd.

The functionality is identical to the 8QT: same 11-in-1 function set, same dual-lid design, same EvenCrisp air frying technology. Where the 6QT falls short compared to the 8QT is simply capacity. You will not fit a whole large chicken under the pressure lid, and air frying a full batch of wings might need two rounds. For the typical weeknight dinner for 2-4 people, 6 quarts is genuinely plenty.

With 7,397 reviews at 4.7 stars, the 6QT has a smaller but still substantial track record. Most reviewers who chose it over the 8QT report being satisfied with the capacity decision. The 6QT also weighs 11.3 lbs versus 13.4 lbs for the 8QT, which matters if you move it in and out of a cabinet regularly.

  • Pros: Same technology as the 8QT at $64 less, more manageable size and weight, 7,400+ reviews confirm reliable performance, 6Qt handles most weeknight meals comfortably
  • Cons: Limited capacity for large batches or whole-bird cooking, same dual-lid storage trade-off as the 8QT

Ninja Foodi OS101 9-in-1 5QT — Best Budget Pick

Ninja Foodi OS101 9-in-1 Pressure Cooker and Air Fryer 5 Quart

At $49.99, the Ninja Foodi OS101 costs less than most standalone air fryers and delivers both pressure cooking and air frying. The 4.8-star rating across 4,322 reviews makes it the highest-rated pick in this roundup, which is worth pausing on. For a budget appliance in a category dominated by Instant Pot’s more expensive options, that track record is genuinely impressive.

The 5-quart capacity is the honest limiting factor. It suits 1-3 people and handles meals like pressure-cooked chicken thighs followed by a crisping session, or air-fried frozen foods in quantities that work for smaller households. Ninja’s TenderCrisp technology switches from pressure to air fry mode using two separate lids, same as the Duo Crisp. The build quality is noticeably more lightweight than the Instant Pot models, but at this price that is expected and acceptable. For a deeper look at how this specific model performs day-to-day, see the full Ninja Foodi OS101 review.

The 9-in-1 function set covers pressure cook, air fry/crisp, steam, slow cook, sear/saute, bake/roast, broil, dehydrate, and yogurt making. That is a complete feature set for a household that wants genuine versatility without spending more than $50.

  • Pros: Outstanding value at $49.99, highest per-review rating in this roundup (4.8★), 9 cooking functions, TenderCrisp delivers genuine air fry results, ideal for 1-3 people
  • Cons: 5QT capacity limits use for families of 4+, lighter construction than Instant Pot models, may need two batches for larger meals

Nuwave Duet Air Fryer, Pressure Cooker and Grill Combo — Most Versatile

Nuwave Duet Air Fryer Electric Pressure Cooker and Grill Combo multicooker

The Nuwave Duet is the only appliance in this roundup that adds grilling to the pressure cook and air fry combination. At $229.99, it is the most expensive pick here, and it carries a 4.3-star average across 487 reviews — lower than the other options on this list. That lower average reflects the real complexity of managing three removable lids and a 540-preset interface that takes time to learn. It does not indicate a core quality problem, but it does signal that this appliance rewards patient users more than casual ones.

Nuwave’s Dynamic Pressure Control technology adjusts pressure throughout the cooking cycle to maintain optimal conditions — a genuine engineering step up from the fixed-pressure approach used in most electric pressure cookers. The Combo Cook function lets you finish a pressure-cooked meal with a grill sear or air fry crisp without moving food between appliances. The heavy-duty 18/10 stainless steel inner pot is a notable quality step above the non-stick pots found in the other picks here.

If you specifically want grilling capability alongside pressure cooking and air frying, the Nuwave Duet is currently the only new unit available in the US that delivers all three. If grilling is not a priority, the Instant Pot Duo Crisp 8QT delivers better overall value at a similar price and with a far more established review track record.

  • Pros: Only new US combo with pressure cook + air fry + grill, Dynamic Pressure Control technology, 18/10 stainless steel inner pot, Combo Cook functionality, 540 preset options
  • Cons: Lower average rating (4.3★) than other picks, three removable lids adds real complexity, steeper learning curve, expensive relative to its review volume

How to Choose the Right Air Fryer Pressure Cooker

Capacity: Match the Pot to Your Household Size

The most common buying mistake in this category is choosing capacity based on how the appliance looks on a shelf rather than how many people you actually feed. A 5-quart pot suits 1-3 people. A 6-quart covers 2-4. The 8-quart is right for families of 5 or more, or for regular batch cooking and meal prep. Bigger is not automatically better — an oversized pressure cooker takes longer to reach pressure with smaller food loads, and an oversized air fryer basket means less efficient crisping.

Pressure Cooking Performance

All four picks in this roundup use genuine electric pressure cooking — not simulated pressure or steam cooking sold with pressure-adjacent language. The Instant Pot models and Ninja Foodi OS101 operate at the industry-standard 10-12 PSI range. Lower PSI means longer cooking times and less tender results. Nuwave claims higher peak pressure through Dynamic Pressure Control, though real-world cooking times are comparable to the Instant Pot across most recipe types.

Air Frying Quality

Early combo units produced disappointing air fry results — soft rather than crispy, uneven browning, steamed texture instead of roasted. The current generation has largely fixed this. EvenCrisp (Instant Pot) and TenderCrisp (Ninja) use higher-speed fans and precise temperature control to deliver crunch comparable to a mid-range standalone air fryer. The practical test: chicken wings at 400F for 25 minutes. You want golden, crispy skin with no rubber or steam texture. All three Instant Pot and Ninja picks pass this consistently based on verified buyer reviews.

Ease of Use

Dual-lid designs add one physical step but are intuitive once learned. The Instant Pot and Ninja OS101 both use this approach and have clear, simple interfaces. The Nuwave Duet uses three lids and a more complex control panel — it is the least beginner-friendly option by a noticeable margin. If you are new to pressure cooking or air frying, start with the Ninja OS101 or Instant Pot 6QT.

Price and Value

The Ninja Foodi OS101 at $49.99 is the best value in this category without qualification. The Instant Pot 6QT at $129.99 offers the same core technology at a solid mid-range price. The 8QT at $193.99 is justified when capacity matters. The Nuwave Duet at $229.99 is only worth the premium if the grill function is something you will genuinely use regularly — otherwise the Instant Pot 8QT is the stronger choice at a lower price.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an air fryer pressure cooker?

An air fryer pressure cooker is a single appliance that combines two distinct cooking methods: electric pressure cooking (sealed, high-pressure steam to cook food faster than conventional methods) and air frying (circulating dry, superheated air to create a crispy exterior without submerging food in oil). The two functions are managed via separate lids or electronic mode-switching. These combo units are also called multi-cookers or pressure air fryers.

Is an air fryer pressure cooker better than buying them separately?

For most home cooks, yes. A combo unit saves counter space and typically costs less than buying a quality standalone pressure cooker and a quality standalone air fryer separately. The trade-off is that dedicated appliances can outperform combos at the same price point. But for the majority of home cooks who want both functions without committing two appliance slots, the combo approach makes practical sense.

Can you air fry and pressure cook at the same time?

No. These are fundamentally different cooking environments. Pressure cooking requires a sealed pot with moisture and steam; air frying requires an open environment with dry, circulating heat. The typical workflow is: pressure cook until tender, release pressure, swap to the air fryer lid, then air fry to crisp the exterior. Both steps combined usually take 30-50 minutes.

Which size air fryer pressure cooker should I buy?

A 5-quart model handles 1-3 people comfortably. A 6-quart covers 2-4 people. An 8-quart is right for families of 5 or more, or for regular batch cooking. When in doubt, size up rather than down — a slightly oversized pot is easier to work with than one that is too small for the meals you want to make. The 6-quart is the most popular size because it covers most household needs without the bulk of the 8-quart.

Are air fryer pressure cookers safe?

Yes. Modern electric pressure cookers include multiple safety mechanisms that make them far safer than stovetop pressure cookers. The Instant Pot models include 10 safety features: automatic pressure release, lid locking, thermal fuse protection, and more. None of the picks in this roundup can build dangerous pressure — they cut power automatically if limits are exceeded. Follow the manufacturer guidelines and these are among the safest kitchen appliances available.

What can you cook in an air fryer pressure cooker?

Almost everything. Pressure cooking excels at tough meat cuts like brisket, short ribs, and pork shoulder; dried beans and legumes; rice and grains; soups and stews. Air frying handles chicken wings, French fries, roasted vegetables, and anything you want crispy without deep frying. The real advantage is sequential use: pressure cook chicken thighs until fully cooked and juicy, then air fry to crisp the skin. Two steps, one appliance.

The Bottom Line

The air fryer pressure cooker market in 2026 is genuinely small, which makes the decision easier than it might look. The Instant Pot Duo Crisp 8QT is the best all-round choice for most households — 30,000+ reviews and proven performance across both cooking modes. If 8 quarts is more than you need, the 6QT version delivers identical results at $64 less. If budget is the deciding factor, the Ninja Foodi OS101 at $49.99 is extraordinary value — the 4.8-star rating across 4,322 reviews earns it an unconditional recommendation for smaller households. And if you specifically want grilling capability, the Nuwave Duet is the only option currently available, though the learning curve is real.
